Creating
art has always been a part of my life. Throughout my early
childhood and education, I have been blessed with a family
that has always encouraged my love for art and my God-given
talents. My mother in particular, who is very talented and
creative, continues to be my biggest "cheerleader".
I am originally from South Carolina but am now a Norfolk resident. So,it
is very exciting to be affiliated with Olde Towne Art in historic Portsmouth
and to be a part of such a fun, creative and established artist's community.
This type of artist's collective is a pleasure for both the artist and
the art lover. As a visitor, you are able to find many talented people
under one roof, to watch us work and share in our processes and creations.
In addition to South Carolina and Virginia, I have enjoyed living (and
painting) in Florida, Rhode Island, Maryland, Hawaii, Europe and the
Caribbean. Obviously, traveling is a favorite facet of my life and I
thrill at seeing new scenes, exotic places and people. Some of my other
favorite spots are Australia, Croatia, Turkey and Israel. But, I must
add that I find delight in the colors/ shapes and brush strokes of every
day, simple scenes as well, especially here in the Chesapeake area.

I
earned a double major in Art and Illustration from Columbia
College in Columbia, SC. After graduation I began a career
in Graphic Design but later entered the field of Higher Education
Administration and also earned a Masters Degree in Education
from Clemson University.
After a 14 year career and consequently other positions in Administration,
I refocused my artistic interests into a small business where I provide
clients with original artwork for gift-giving or for their own collections.
My paintings involve either Acrylics, Watercolors, Oils or Pastels. I
especially enjoy providing you with a home / boat or pet portrait from
photographs. A popular choice is a boat portrait on a chart paper background.
I
encourage you to come visit us at Olde Towne Art, see works
in progress, ask questions, and enjoy delightful Olde Towne
Portsmouth! In the meantime, if you would like to peruse
my personal website, it can be found at ArtByGinabuz.com and
you can email me at Ginabuz@aol.com.
